The main server, once it has received the user's login and request, searches for the project on the servers that offer the fastest connection to the client in order to provide data sets as quickly as possible.

The data server manage its own consistency, it provides any type of data and can be installed on the LAN.

The ATLAS architecture is more than a client-server infrastructure. Its background makes it easy to distribute data sets on different servers and to balance the request load and find the fastest repository to get the data.
